The short answer

Sleepiest documents stories, meditations, ambient sounds, and a mixer. Lalai offers seven illustrated story worlds and sound mixing, in an app on the App Store for iPhone and iPad.

Both have more than stories

Sleepiest’s developer App Store description lists stories, meditation content, ambient sounds, and a tool for layering sounds. Its Google Play description also lists stories, meditation, and ambient audio. It would be misleading to suggest that choosing Lalai is the only way to build a sound mix.↗↗

Lalai combines an illustrated story collection with sounds and music. Its published support guide describes the included free selection and the mixer. The app is on the App Store for iPhone and iPad; an Android version is coming soon, so check that it is available for your device.↗

Browse with one evening in mind

Choose a small scenario instead of trying to compare every feature at once. Tonight, do you want a narrator, a musical background, or a room made of rain and fire? Open the relevant part of each collection and see whether something appeals.

For narration, a title and thumbnail can only tell you so much. Listen to a legally available sample when offered, and notice the voice, pace, and amount of speech. For sounds, look for the specific ingredients you want rather than assuming a high catalog count guarantees a favorite.

A smaller collection can be a preference

Lalai’s seven worlds are easy to survey together. That may appeal if you like recognizing your options and returning to one setting. It is not proof that a small catalog is better, and it does not mean a larger one is difficult to use.↗

Try the first-story guide to compare the settings. If you enjoy discovering new voices and styles, inspect Sleepiest’s current selection as well. There is no need to turn those different preferences into a winner-takes-all score.

Check the purchase you would actually make

Read the offer for your device and region, including what is included, when any trial ends, and what renews. We have left prices and platform exclusions out of this guide rather than infer them from a single regional listing.

Our description of Sleepiest draws on its developer listings on Apple and Google’s stores; we have not independently tested the app or verified feature parity across devices. Lalai’s support materials and story pages establish its side of the comparison. Use the listening checklist to investigate anything your own choice depends on.
